The Sunday, May 7 CCYC Icebreaker is an annual event to welcome the sailing season on the Chesapeake. This year we have a beautiful view of Annapolis Roads from Horn Point Harbor Marina courtyard lawn on Back Creek.
It's conveniently located for boaters as well as land cruisers. You can come by boat and anchor off Horn Point, or anchor in Back Creek, or get a transient slip, or pick up a mooring ball, or you can come by car to 105 Eastern Ave, Annapolis, MD 21403 in Eastport. There is easy parking for drivers and tie up space for dinghies.
Adjacent is the Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park. It is open 10am - 3pm if you want to visit them before our get together. Admission for the museum is Adults: $7 - Youth (3-12), Senior (65+), Military, and Student: $5 - Museum Members and Children under 3: FREE.
Admission to the Icebreaker is FREE but please register so we have enough food. Bring those friends that might want to join the club for all the summer fun.
Happy hour will start at 3:00 p.m. with your beverages, followed by a club-supplied Burgers and Hot Dogs dinner at 5:00 p.m.. Those attending should bring a favorite beverage (alcohol is OK) along with a side dish and/or hors d'oeuvres to share. The Marina has 2 professional gas grills and the Club will provide burgers and hot dogs for grilling. Rocking chairs, picnic tables, a lawn and giant Jenga will be there for your pleasure.
If you are joining us by sea, hail Laughing Spirit (Hilary Howes) on VHF (Ch 71) or cell phone at 202-701-8911. It's her home Marina so she won't be in the raft up but she can co-ordinate your arrival. The dinghy dock is by the power panel inside the marina.
