The Chesapeake Catalina Yacht Club (CCYC) is a group of sailing enthusiasts based in the central and northern region of the Chesapeake Bay - from the mouth of the Patuxent River to the Susquehanna River of Havre de Grace, MD. Our members are families and single-handers who enjoy cruising the beautiful Chesapeake Bay in Catalina sailboats.
The club started in 1980 as Fleet #11 of the National Association of Catalina 30 Owners. Over the years, owners of other-sized Catalinas were attracted to the club and as a result, we changed our name to Chesapeake Catalina Yacht Club. CCYC members own a variety of Catalina boat sizes, ranging from 27 to 47 feet.
Our specialty is having fun with boats. We share sailing stories, repair and upkeep tips, and lend a friendly hand when needed while out on the Bay sailing.
During the sailing season from May through October, we have cruises and raft-ups monthly. These cruises include special events such as a crab feast and an Oktoberfest.
The club has member meetings in March and November. The meetings feature socializing, educational programs, guest speakers, films, single-handing adventures and tech talk. We have a Brunch in April and a Holiday Party in December.
